Upgrade components

Upgrade components are things that can be put into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to provide an added benefit or additional effect while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors or players, looted or obtained as rewards, or made with crafting materials. In addition to offering bonus attributes, upgrade items can also have cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components include inscriptions enhancements, and infusions. They aren't generally available for general use, and can only be used on ascended equipment or some non-ascended weapons from the Factions campaign. Infusions, inscriptions, and enrichments can be recovered from equipment using an Infusion Extraction Device or salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.

Phoenix Boxes, unlike other upgrade items, can be exchanged and reused while still attached to the item that is being upgraded. These upgrade items can be used to boost the quality of armor and weapons without spending Dilithium. They can double the likelihood that an item will receive a quality upgrade.

Upgrade components can be added to an item, but the previous one is destroyed (except for legendaries and upgraded equipment). Upgrade components are only available to upgraded items with an identification level of zero or higher. If you add an upgrade to the weapon already equipped with a suffix or prefix upgrade the item will be named in the same way as it would appear on the game screen (for instance, adding the Radiant insignia to Canthan Armor makes it Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). A player can only have up to three upgrade items at one time.

Glyphs

Glyphs are a fantastic accessory to any item. They offer unique benefits and boosts. Some Glyphs increase the number of affixes that an item has, thereby increasing the power of the item. These glyphs are acquired through working through Dungeons. Some can even be found in specific World Tier 3 zones. It is important to keep in mind that glyphs can only be used by characters who have created a root-dungeon with the same depth.

To make  item upgrading  of a Glyph first, you need to build it from components and connect them to anchors. Then the component will automatically align itself to other components and paths in the same layer. If you don't want create the glyph using components, you can build it by using a combination of paths and anchors. Drag an element near the highlighted component to secure it.

Certain glyphs require certain requirements to be fulfilled for example, 25 Dexterity in a specific area on the Paragon Board. Certain glyphs also require a certain number of Primary Stat nodes to activate and can be a challenge to achieve. Some glyphs have a radius, which increases as you move it up.

Glyphs are used for a wide variety of items and can be added to any weapon, except for weapons of specific classes. Certain glyphs come with additional requirements, for example an amount of damage to Dexterity or Attack damage on a specific area of the Paragon board.

The Defend Glyph boosts the probability of preventing enemy attacks by 5%. It also has the chance of 15% to render the Hero vulnerable for two turns.

There are also a handful of glyphs that could be applied to limited-use tools, such as the Black Lion Chest or Trading Post. These glyphs are counted towards the Combat Mechanic Achievement.

The most popular glyphs are the attack glyphs which increase the ATK substats of Artifacts by a flat value. They are particularly useful for classes that are ranged, such as Warriors and Rogues. Other glyphs include the Exploit Glyph which makes enemies who strike the Hero susceptible to damage.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used for rerolling a result rolled during an Action. When the reroll happens the tokens are then discarded. Reroll tokens are available in a variety of ways, including dungeons and raids, or through participation in skirmishes. They can also be bought in the store or from other players. They are particularly beneficial in dungeons or trials because they allow players to roll rewards from the bottom of the chest.

For items at the level 1 there are values for recycling points. The upgrade gauge will grow by a certain number of points when you recycle an item. This number is determined by both the item's rarity and level. In addition, the upgraded item will not retain its level when rerolled, and the cost for recycling an upgraded item goes up depending on the level of the item.

It is also possible to use reroll tokens to roll an item. However it will not bring back the item's original stats or level. This is useful for players who wish to reroll an item they aren't happy with but still would like to keep it in their collection.

There are three types of upgrade tokens in the game: reroll, random and upgrade.  item upgrader  comes with its own subtypes. Reroll tokens for instance are available in three types of rarity: legendary, rare and enhanced. Each requires an item of the appropriate level to create an item of the same quality.

To use tokens that reroll choose "Reroll Token" by right-clicking on the Satanic or Angelic items in your inventory. Select the type of token you want to use. The tokens that are available include Item Weapons, Misc, 1hguns, 2hguns, and Focus. The Item token can be used to create a brand new Item in any quality. A Weapon or Misc token can create a new weapon belonging to the same faction.

There is also a possibility that the item could be upgraded to a different item with a higher level and the same additional stats. This will occur if the item is in the Pool that cannot be dropped or has been transferred to it as part of the Franchise Card.
